Lady(ish): Where Wellness Gets Unfiltered

Guided Meditation: Releasing Who You’ve Been, Making Space for Who You’re Becoming - 29

Autumn Season 1 Episode 29

This guided meditation is an invitation to gently release identities that no longer fit and reconnect with who you’re becoming beneath the roles, expectations, and conditioning. Designed to support your nervous system, this practice helps you soften attachment to old patterns, create safety in the in-between space, and allow identity change to unfold without force or urgency. If you’re feeling called to evolve but unsure what comes next, this meditation offers a grounded place to begin.

🌿 Guided Meditation: Identity Reset

Releasing Who You’ve Been, Making Space for Who You’re Becoming

Begin by finding a comfortable position.

You may be seated or lying down — whatever feels supportive to your body right now.

If it feels safe, allow your eyes to gently close.

And if not, simply soften your gaze.

Take a slow breath in through your nose…

and a longer breath out through your mouth.

Let that exhale signal to your nervous system

that it is safe to slow down here.

Take another breath in…

and release.

There is nothing to fix.

Nothing to figure out.

Nothing to become in this moment.

Just allow yourself to arrive.

Bring your attention to the places where your body is supported —

the chair beneath you,

the floor under your feet,

the surface holding you.

Let gravity do some of the work for you.

With each exhale, imagine your body becoming just a little heavier…

a little more grounded…

a little more here.

If your mind begins to wander, that’s okay.

That’s what minds do.

Each time you notice it drifting, gently bring your attention back

to the rhythm of your breath.

Inhale…

Exhale.

You are teaching your nervous system that this moment is safe.

Now, gently bring to mind the version of you that has been running on autopilot.

Not with judgment.

Not with criticism.

Just noticing.

This may be a role you’ve played…

a version of you that learned how to succeed, perform, care for others, or stay safe.

You don’t need to define it clearly.

Simply sense it.

Notice where this identity lives in your body.

Is there tension?

Tightness?

Heaviness?

Or perhaps nothing at all.

Whatever you notice is enough.

Silently say to yourself:

This identity once protected me.

It once served a purpose.

Allow that truth to land.

Now imagine that this identity is not something you need to destroy,

fix,

or push away.

Instead, visualize gently loosening your grip on it.

Like unclenching a fist…

or setting down a heavy bag you’ve been carrying for a long time.

You are not losing yourself.

You are creating space.

Space for alignment.

Space for choice.

Space for something new to form.

Take a slow breath in…

and as you exhale, imagine releasing one expectation you’ve been living under.

Just one.

You don’t need to name it.

Trust that your body knows.

Now shift your awareness to the space you’ve created.

The openness.

The quiet.

The unknown.

This is the in-between —

the place where identity reshapes itself.

It may feel tender.

It may feel uncertain.

And it is not a problem to solve.

Silently repeat:

I am allowed to evolve without burning my life down.

I am allowed to change at a pace that feels safe.

Let those words move through you.

Bring one hand to your heart…

or anywhere your body asks for connection.

Feel the warmth of your own presence.

You don’t need to know who you are becoming yet.

Your nervous system will update through safety, repetition, and compassion.

Through small choices.

Through gentle boundaries.

Through listening.

Silently affirm:

I trust my timing.

I trust my body.

I trust this transition.

Begin to bring your awareness back to your breath.

Inhale…

Exhale.

Notice the room around you.

The sounds.

The sensations.

When you’re ready, gently wiggle your fingers and toes.

And when it feels right, open your eyes.

Carry this softness with you.

You are not behind.

You are not broken.

You are becoming.
